Elaine Mercier Knight

Elaine Mercier Knight, age 71, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. She was preceded in death by parents, Hugh B. Mercier and Louena Owens Mercier; brother, Harry Mercier; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bonnie and Arizona Word Knight. Mrs. Knight is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Bonnie C. Knight, Jr; children, Bonnie Shane (Heather) Knight of Peachtree Corners, GA, Emily Lane (Justin) Guck of Winder, GA, Jessica Nicole (Danny) Martin of Buford, GA; grandchildren, C. J. Martin, Lily Martin, Cole Guck, Cooper Guck, Case Guck; sister-in-law, Betty Knight Price of Jefferson, GA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Carol Chapman Knight of Buford and Jerry Knight of Lawrenceville, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Knight was born on January 3, 1954 in Buford, GA and graduated from North Gwinnett High School in 1972. She had worked for Lake Lanier Islands in hospitality for several years. She became a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Buford at an early age, and she was in the Senior Adult Sunday School Class there.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church in Buford with Rev. Bryan Satterfield officiating. She will Lie in State beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Raymond Mitchell officiating at the Graveside Service.

The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home on Friday, November 21 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
