Elaine then attended Doane University for two years and then went to work for Geneva State Bank. On May 1, 1968, Elaine and husband, Ronald took ownership of Ron's Tavern in
Milligan, Nebraska, where she served as proprietor and general manager. Elaine served Milligan and the surrounding area of communities with food, beverages, and general counseling for 52 years.
