Elaine Marie (O'Marra) Malkin, 88, of Concord, NH, formerly of Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 6, 2025, following a period of declining health.
Born on March 18, 1937, in Norwalk, CT, to parents Phebe (Mack) and Martin C. O'Marra, Elaine was the youngest of 10 siblings. She attended local schools before meeting her husband, Richard “Dick” Malkin Sr.
She was predeceased by her siblings Bertha (Ballard), Jane (Conroy), Anastasia “Anas” (Auleta), Martin “Marty” A., Thomas, John, Cornelius, and Raymond “Chub.” She is survived by her sister, Regina “Chic” Flaherty.
Elaine is also survived by her two sons: Richard D. Malkin Jr (Kim) and Kyle G. Malkin (Keri). Her dearly loved grandchildren Rebecca, Rachel, Kirstyn and Kyle.
Elaine is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Elaine worked for many years as parish secretary at St. Joseph’s Parish in S. Norwalk, CT, retiring after a long and dedicated career. She remained a devoted Catholic throughout her life. In her later years, she moved to Concord, NH, to be closer to family, where she made many dear friends and was loved by all who knew her.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on November 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in E. Norwalk, CT. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local parish or food pantry in Elaine’s memory. Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Boscawen office, is assisting the family with arrangements.
