Elaine Roberts

Elaine Roberts, 86, of St. Joseph, Mich., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Bright Star Tabernacle Church, 5130 Old Pipestone Road, Eau Claire, with Pastor Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be held at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Elaine was born on Feb. 5, 1939, in Boyne Falls, Mich., to Robert and Olga (Kalis) Cilke. She graduated from Petoskey High School in 1956. Elaine served as the Bridgman city clerk for many years, retiring in 2004. She enjoyed baking, reading, and bargain shopping, and was a devoted biblical scholar who deeply loved the Lord and her faith. Elaine especially cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Elaine is survived by her husband Raymond Roberts; daughter Lynette Thomas; son Brian (Kim) Thomas; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Thomas; second husband, Rayburn Taylor; sisters Beata Van Treese, Olga Earney, Erma Kolenda and Ruth Hilton; and brothers Robert Cilke, Elmer Cilke and Victor Cilke.
