Elayna Chalice Hansen, 17, moved on to her next great adventure Saturday, January 10th, 2026. Her passion for books, music, learning, food, family, and friends leaves us with a hole in our hearts that will be difficult to fill.
Born on March 4th, 2008, in Madison, Wisconsin, Elayna was raised by two loving households who were dedicated to her happiness. She moved around a bit during her younger years, living in Madison, St. Nazianz, Plymouth, New Holstein, Chilton, and Manitowoc.
In early 2019, Elayna moved to Sheboygan Falls, where she found interests and made friendships that would continue throughout her life. Elayna discovered a love of playing the flute, a passion for dystopian stories, and an enjoyment of academia matched by few. She was in the National Honors Society, Key Club, and played flute in the Sheboygan Falls High School Wind Ensemble and EWC Honors Band. Regardless of where she was, Elayna loved traveling to new places, and was up for trying almost anything once; new food, zip lining, roller coasters along a mountainside and horseback riding are among the many things Elayna got to experience.
Elayna is survived by her mother Rachele (Adam) Beltran, father Cole (Samantha) Hansen, sisters Adaya Violetta and Arya Hansen, brothers Cas, Kaden, and Avery Beltran, grandparents Chris and Rene Puetz, Terry and Marlene Ver Straate, Cristina Fischer, Alfonso Beltran Sr., Kathy Hansen, great-grandmother Betty Van Bruggen; uncles and aunts Jonathon (Samantha) Puetz, Tyler Hansen, Martina (Kyle) Wessels, Alex (Adam) Huenink, Alfonso Beltran Jr, and cousins Owen, Reilly, and Emilyn Puetz, Caleb, Elijah, and Jonah Wessels, and Micah Huenink.
Elayna is preceded in death by her grandfather Jeff Hansen, uncle Samuel Hansen, uncle Ray Stayer Jr., aunt Riki Chalice Koepke, and other extended family.
We would also like to acknowledge a few people who were especially important to Elayna - her friends Ereka, McClaren, and her boyfriend Lucas. You three meant the world to Elayna, and we are so sorry for what you’re going through.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Crossroads Community Church, 4321 County Road A in Sheboygan. The family will receive visitors at church on Saturday from 2:00-5:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elayna’s name to the SFHS Music Boosters Organization or Sheboygan Falls Memorial Library.
