Elbert "Bill" Graham Noblitt, 94, devoted husband of 73 years to Thelma Brewington Noblitt, passed away peacefully at Rosecrest Nursing Facility, surrounded by his loving family on January 27, 2025.

Born on December 2, 1930, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he is a son of the late Charles Lewis Noblitt and Lucia Peake Noblitt. A dedicated artisan, Bill spent many years working as a painter at USC Upstate.

Bill was known for his kind and welcoming personality, often brightening the day of those around him with his remarkable sense of humor. Whether he was at church, work, or on the golf course, he had an innate ability to make people laugh.

Bill’s journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and unwavering faith in God. He loved the Lord, Jesus Christ, with his entire being. Bill spent the last 35 years of his life being an active member of several churches, where he was a member of the choir and a deacon. If work was needed at the church, he was more than willing to share his painting skills. He most recently attended Northbrook Baptist Church.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Vicky Noblitt Toney; grandchildren, Brayden Graham Watkins (Toni), Kylee Elizabeth Young (Benjamin), Kathryn Delane Toney (Louis Porter), Caroline Mackenzie Rollins (Darby) and Landon Andrew Toney; great-grandchildren, Zander and Taryn Watkins, Liam and Elliott Porter, and Laila, Lilly and Lane Rollins. Bill loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time and playing games with his great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is predeceased by brothers; Terry Peake and Jack E. Noblitt; sister, Betty Noblitt Crocker.

A celebration of life will begin with visitation on February 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, located at 2075 E. Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A funeral service will follow, commencing at 12:00 PM on the same day, also at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Bill's legacy of laughter, kindness, and craftsmanship will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Flowers are accepted, but memorials may be made to Hospice of Spartanburg at 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303
