Elbert Henderson "Deat" Davison

Elbert "Deat" Henderson Davison, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in Birmingham, AL. A proud native of Talladega County, he was born on November 26, 1936, to Virgil Davison and Willie Mae Vincent Davison.

Elbert graduated from Winterboro High School as a member of the class of 1956. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the United States Army. His time in the military reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment-values that would continue to guide him throughout his life. He was employed at Goins Trucking and Childersburg Truck Service for over 6 decades, where they weren't just his employers and co-workers, they were considered family.

Elbert was a devoted husband to Charlotte Virginia Heath Davison. Together they built a life of 65 years, rooted in love and resilience. He was a proud father to Henry Jerry Hall (Liezel), Regina Davison Dashner (Jon) and Mark Davison (Robbin). He was proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Elbert also carried in his heart the memory of his son, Roger "Bobo" Davison (Oxana), who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Willie Mae Davison, his sister, Ruth Tebo and his brother, William "Billy" Davison, one niece and two nephews.

Throughout his life, Elbert remained deeply connected to his roots in Alabama. Those who knew him will remember a man of quiet strength and enduring loyalty. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

Please join the family for visitation which will be held on January 11, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega, 516 North St East, Talladega, AL 35160. A memorial service will follow directly after the visitation at 3:00 P.M.
