Elbert Goodwin Obituary
Elbert was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Mary Jane Harlan Goodwin; his wife, Karen Lynn Kirby Goodwin; his son, Sammy Dewayne Goodwin; and three siblings, James Edward Goodwin, Linda Erline Pruitt, and Richard Lynn Goodwin. His memory will be forever cherished by his surviving siblings, Barbara Roberts (Charles) of Hadley, KY, and Bennie Dean Goodwin (Natlie Jean) of Lewisburg, KY, his stepson, Ryan Blake Kirby (Deborah Anne) of Lewisburg, KY, and his great-grandson, Jason Wade Kirby of Beechmont, KY, several nieces and nephews and his adored fur babies, Winnie, Peanut, and Jupiter.
For 44 years, Elbert dedicated his professional life to Emerson Electric, where his commitment and work ethic were unparalleled. Elbert's interests were a reflection of his vibrant personality. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, working and playing on computers and watching old Westerns.
Graveside services will be held at Mt Zion Cemetery on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 1:00pm with Bro. Woody Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Mt Zion Cemetery where his family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt Zion Cemetery Fund 338 Grubb Road Lewisburg, KY 42256.
