On September 28, 2025, Elbert Edward "Ed" Weeks peacefully passed into his heavenly home, where he was reunited with loved ones who went before him. He was born on August 6, 1947 to parents, Carl and Lillie Weeks.
Ed found joy in many simple pleasures, including fishing, western films, vintage cars, and watching Fox News. However, his greatest source of happiness was always his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, uncle, cousin , and friend whose devotion to his loved ones was unwavering.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Weeks; stepchildren Lisa (Mark) Ingram, Edward (Christina) Weeks, and Lucas Weeks; grandchildren Kadeus Goforth, Isabella Weeks, Andrew Ingram, Emma Weeks, Martin Weeks, and Makena Weeks. He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Othella Torbett and Rosella Gann, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lillie (Young) Weeks; his sister, Elvira Weeks; and his brothers, Walter and Woodward Weeks.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to NHC of Athens for their care and compassion during Ed's final days. Their kindness will forever be remembered.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 3pm at the Chapel of Companion Funeral Home in Athens, TN located at 400 S White St., Athens, TN 37303. The family will receive guests on Sunday from 1- 3pm. Burial will follow the service at Conasauga Cemetery in Englewood, TN.
