Eldon Marcus Wright, age 93, passed away in Broomfield, Colorado, on Friday, September 27, 2024. The cause of death was a stroke.
Eldon was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, the eldest of 3 children, to Eunice and Marcus Wright August 24, 1931.
He worked as a software programmer for IBM and later for Squarerigger Incorporated of Silverdale, Washington.
He served as Deacon and led singing for the Church of Christ in Campbell, California in the 70's. He last attended Eastside Church of Christ in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
After getting his associate degree from Abilene Christian college, Eldon moved to Denver, Colorado. One day Eldon was driving behind his best friend Ronnie in the mountains. Ronnie had brought along his then girlfriend Pat. A fight ensued and Ronnie stopped the car and told Pat to get out. She did so and Eldon picked her up without her shoes, which started their lifelong relationship.
They had a wonderful life together with their 5 kids, following Eldon's IBM Career all over the US. Eldon enjoyed masonry and woodworking, finishing countless projects on his homes.
He was married to Pat for 66 years. He lovingly cared for her until she died from dementia.
Survivors include his 5 children Cynthia, Cheryl, John, Cathy and Carol, his sister Janice, sister in law Janiece and his very good friends Joe and Donna Reeves.
Eldon also leaves 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Eldon will be interred at Fort Logan next to his wife Pat.
