Eldridge Watson

Eldridge was born on March 18, 1928 and passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016. Eldridge was a resident of Tarboro, North Carolina at the time of his passing. He attended Wilson County public schools.He attended college. He enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Newark NJ after basic training and was quickly promoted from private to private first class after his sergeant learned he could type A year before his planned discharge he requested an overseas assignment and arrived in Japan just one week before the start of the Korean War. His enlistment was extended and he was in Japan for 21 months. He was discharged in 1952 with the rank of staff sergeant after 5 years of service to our country. He was married to Joanne. A graveside service will be held at Edgecombe Memorial Park Thursday April 14 at 4:00 pm. The family will greet friends and relatives Wednesday April 13 from 4pm to 7pm at the home 2221 Oak Drive Tarboro NC. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Edgecombe County Veteranâs Military Museum PO Box 115 Tarboro NC 27886.
