Eleanor Lynn Bratton, lovingly known as Lynn, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on December 21, 2025, in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of 87. She was born on March 16, 1938, in Pampa, Texas, to Jewel Tracy Cary and Leta Irene Gillham, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved siblings Glen Cary, Dale Cary, Don Cary, Kenneth Cary, Carolyn Cary Montgomery, and Ivale Cary.

Lynn lived a life marked by faith, generosity, creativity, and deep devotion to her family. Her greatest calling and proudest achievement was being a mother who faithfully instilled Christian beliefs and values in her children. She is survived by her three children: Larry Don Bratton; Michael William Bratton and wife Kimberly; and Robin Gay Barrett and husband Byron. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, David Bratton and wife Shannon, Aaron Bratton, and Caitlyn Bratton, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Lynn was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Vernon William Bratton Jr., who preceded her in death on November 11, 2004. During Vernon’s military service, Lynn embraced a life of frequent moves with grace and good humor, always ensuring her children felt at home wherever they landed. She made every place warmer, every house brighter, and every chapter meaningful. Family camping trips, new adventures, and shared laughter were all made special because of her loving spirit.

A gifted musician from an early age, Lynn was an accomplished pianist who also played the clarinet and guitar. As a child, she performed private recitals alongside her brother Dale, and music remained a lifelong expression of her heart. She studied music at Texas Tech University, where she was also a proud member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Throughout her life, she shared her musical talents by playing piano and organ for church services and teaching piano lessons part-time, blessing countless others through her gift.

Lynn’s faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. She loved reading the Bible, attending Bible study, and was known as a true prayer warrior. She had an unwavering ability to see the good in everyone and was always an advocate for the underdog. Her generosity knew no bounds—she would truly give the shirt off her back, faithfully giving to family, friends, and charities whenever she saw a need.

Creatively gifted, Lynn found joy in painting, crocheting, and all forms of arts and crafts. She was rarely without a beloved pet nearby, having surrounded herself with many animals over the years, each one deeply loved. Anyone who met Lynn felt her warmth immediately—she was kind, welcoming, and unforgettable.

Above all, Lynn lived her life as a reflection of Christ’s love. Her legacy is one of faith, compassion, service, and unwavering love for her family. While she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now fully healed, at peace, and reunited with loved ones in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mission Arlington (Mission Metroplex), 210 W. South St., Arlington, Texas 76010, in honor of Lynn’s generous and giving heart.
