Eleanor Cavallaro Obituary
May 20, 1940 - October 13, 2025
Eleanor "Ellie" "Mima" Cavallaro, 85, of Farmington Drive, Hamden, passed away suddenly on October 13th surrounded by her loving family and friends. Ellie was born in New Haven on May 20, 1940, the eldest daughter of the late Francis "Nukie" and Antoinette Nuclo. Ellie was currently employed at Quinnipiac University where she happily worked in admissions for nearly 40 years. Ellie's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband Pasquale "Pat" Cavallaro Sr. She leaves behind her sons Pat (Francine) and Michael (Jennifer) Cavallaro. Mima also leaves to cherish her memory, her adoring granddaughters Jenna and Jessica Cavallaro. She is survived by her sister Esther (Vincent) DeAngelis and her sister-in-law Alexis (Joseph) Cavallaro, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT. Friends are asked to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Monday at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery.

My deepest condolences to the Cavallaro family. I have many memories of Sundays at Nonni and Nonno´s house. And to cousin Esther, it´s hard losing a sister. I´m so sorry.

While it had been a very long time that I saw my cousin, Eleanor, I have some wonderful & lasting memories of our earlier days. Eleanor was always a sweet & kind woman. My deepest condolences to her family. God Bless!! May you rest in eternal peace.

I was sad to hear about Ellie"s passing. We shared some great times together when I was employed at QU and the many get togethers we would have. Just recently saw her and was looking forward to being together again. Great person to know.

I was so sorry to see that Ellie had passed away. We go way back with Ellie and Pat for years in Hamden youth hockey. Many trips for hockey and spent many good times together. Watched her two beautiful sons grow up. Pat and Ellie had a special place in Caesars and my heart. Hope some day we all meet again. Rest in peace dear Ellie.

I had the pleasure of working with Ellie at QU, she was one of the most outgoing and friendliest people in the office. Ellie was always there to help with any work but also just to chat (which we did rather well). She was a sweetheart and will be sorely missed by all.
