Mrs. Chickaway, 67, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026. She enjoyed artisan work, basket making and beading, attending Pow Wow's, spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Shumake and Janie Denson Shumake; sisters, Jeanell Shumake Anderson, Anita Shumake Anderson and Pearlie Shumake Thomas; brothers, Thurman Shumake and Genis Shumake.
Survivors include her husband, Troy Chickaway; daughters, LaShannon Ferris, Tara Chickaway Steve, Shaya Chickaway Hicks, Breena Chickaway Dixon, Shondria Chickaway, Chrisinda Chickaway; sons, Richardson Chickaway, Daniel Ferris; sister, Norma Shumake Hall; 36 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Gregory Shumake, Cecil Thompson, Brant Isaac, Jr., Casey Bigpond, Willard Dixon, Emerson Billy. Honorary pallbearers are Derald Isom, Ronald Billy, Sr., Dakota Hicks, Bo Steve, Jermaine Dixon.
