Eleanor Mae Bunker Greenland passed away surrounded by family on October 30, 2025. She was born April 24, 1935, to Edward McQuarrie Bunker and Marguerite Annie Hyde in Los Angeles, California.
She married Dan L Greenland on October 21, 1953, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She enjoyed going temple hopping with family.
Eleanor enjoyed being able to serve as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River and Taylorsville temples for 7 years. She served in many church callings which included serving in the Primary, Young Women's, Relief Society, and Sunday School organizations, along with serving as Ward Chorister. She and Dan served in the New York Utica mission as well.
She enjoyed family activities, camping, sporting events, and holiday get-togethers. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family.
Eleanor is survived by her brother Bryan Bunker and sister-in-law Darlene Bunker, her children: Dan Greenland Jr (Marilee), Dale Greenland, JoAnn Braithwaite (Doug), Laura Aitken (John), Debra Greenland, Marguerite Thacker (Michael), and Tina Rother (Andrew), 39 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren with one more on the way, 2 great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan L Greenland, brothers Edward, Kenneth, Marvin, and Roland, sisters Darleen Greenland (Richard), and Doris Bunker, daughter Jeanette Brimhall, son Kendall Greenland, and daughter-in-law Debbie Foster Greenland.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the hospice team, especially Hilda, her nurse who showed love and compassion during her time serving mom, as well as to so many others who cared for her during her illness with care, love, and comfort.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. A second viewing will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:30 - 10:45 AM at the Kearns North Stake Center, 4260 West 5215 South, Kearns, Utah, with the funeral to follow beginning at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
