She was an amazing woman as evidenced by her extensive obituary. I am blessed and honored to have known her. Winter Haven is a better city because of her. Many of us are better people because of her. She will be missed but not forgotten. God bless her family. Kevin and Darian Henne

A great lady and a great loss. I will always remember our interactions at the Winter Haven Post Office fondly. And I'm certain you will be missed. Rest in peace, Ellie.

Jim, Kit and Peggy,

Where to begin. When I think of Ellie my first thought is always of her ability to make any hat look fabulous ... and she as well. Then I think of baseball and trips to Cleveland and the time she arranged for our son Nick to join you to see Michael Jordan at Chain of Lakes Park.

An amazing City Commissioner, she was so kind to me when the Chamber brought me on board. Always the first with encouragement, good advice and a swift kick in the pants when the situation warranted. Melea and I always enjoyed seeing her and each of you at innumerable community events. We feel so fortunate to have known her.

Love to you at this difficult time.

Dr. Threlkel so sorry for your loss of your beautiful wife. She was very special. She had such a joy when she came up to your office where you worked at Gessler. I remember how strong she was with the loss of your daughter. Prayers Linda Scott

Ellie Thelkel was dedicated to the betterment of her family, her friends and the community. Her love of others was demonstrated by her commitment to service to our local government, her church, her friends and many people in need in so many ways. Gifted with intelligence and wit, she used her communication skills to the utmost. She was a dynamic force of edification. Prayers to her great family who absolutely will miss her here, but she is surely watching over them all from Heaven.
