Eleanor F. Tilger

Eleanor F. Tilger, 97, of Washington, formerly of Canonsburg, died Friday, January 3, 2025, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington. She was born December 31, 1927, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Nickolas and Josephine Yagoditch Tilger. Ms. Tilger was a 1946 graduate of Chartiers High School. She had worked for 47 years as a receptionist for West Penn Power in Washington. Eleanor was a member of Venice United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Watters of McDonald; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her parents are six sisters, Margaret Gabster, Helen Dalbo, Pauline Hancq, Ethel Nagy, Edna Moss and Anna Murgel; and three brothers, Michael, Charles and James Tilger. Friends will be received from 4 until the 6 p.m. hour of service, Wednesday, January 8, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Presbyterian Senior Care Benevolent Fund, 835 S.
