Eleanor Vito Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Drago Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Oct. 1, 2025.
Eleanor (Irrera) Vito was called home to be with her Lord and her family on April 23, 2024 one week after celebrating her 106th birthday.
Eleanor was born in New York City, New York on April 16, 1918 to the late Sadie (Carretta) and Joseph Irrera. She graduated from Julia Richman High School and then attended business school.
On September 24, 1950 she married George J. Vito in St Joseph's Church in Astoria, NY. Eleanor lived her life with faith, courage, and resilience. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her kind and loving heart. We will forever hold these lessons in our hearts along with many others. Her legacy will live on in each of us.
Eleanor worked in the insurance field for many years until her retirement at the age of 86. She was an avid reader and found so much joy in all the adventures she took through her books.
Eleanor is survived by her beloved family; daughter Gail Pauly and Scott Brown with whom she made her home. The loving care she received in her home by Gail and Scott, especially in her final days, was their gift to her and a true blessing. She is also survived by her daughter Gina Kantor, Grandson George Kantor and Sarah Crittenden and her fur grandchildren Heathcliff, Gunther, Gracie, Finn and Dori who instinctively knew the love in her heart. Eleanor is survived by so many people who loved her to include nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband George Vito, Her son-in law George Kantor Jr, her siblings, Anna Irrera, Philip and Mildred Irrera, Mary and Walter Pitula, Frank and Carol Irrera and Joseph Irrera. They will all be united again.
Funeral arrangements are under the director of Drago Funeral home. Burial will immediately follow services at St Michael's Cemetery.
