Eleanor June Wolfe, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025 surrounded by her family members. Eleanor was born on May 23, 1930 to Roy and Edna (Flinner) Poorman.
Eleanor was a Lehman High School Alumni (Class of 1948) and a retiree of Eaton Corp. after 30 + years as a secretary. She was a charter member of the Red Lantern Flames Square Dance Club and still served as the club's "Sunshine Girl". She enjoyed fishing, square dancing, and watching Cleveland baseball, and was highly skilled at sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and cooking. Her favorite thing of all was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Frank (Margie Osterhus) Wolfe, Jim (Linda) Wolfe, and Dawn (Vernon) Shaffer; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Lou Swan.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Nancy Jeanette Wolfe and Wanda Marie Wolfe; brother, R. William Poorman; and long time companion Larry Slack.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 10-11:30 am at Paquelet Funeral Home: 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, OH 44646. Graveside service will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either, Amherst Meadows Skilled Nursing and Rehab or Crossroads Hospice in memory of Eleanor Wolfe.
