Sue married Richard Woodson on November 20, 1972, in Irving, TX.

She was a teacher in Grand Prairie for three years, then became a counselor at Travis Junior High for a year and subsequently worked as a counselor at Amarillo High School until her retirement.

Sue is survived by her husband, Richard Woodson, and her dog, Chewie. She also is survived by her sister, Carolyn Garner; her nieces, Cindy Myers and Mike and their children, Mary O’Donnell and husband Sean and daughter Caroline, and Robert Myers and his wife Tristan, and Ashley Carter and her daughter Juniper Carter and Jennifer Petri and husband Michael and children, Alyssa, Austen, and Abby, and five grandchildren; her nephews, Lee Alexander Powell and wife Michelle, and Gary Powell and wife Jeannette and their daughter, Harper; her sisters-in-law, Linda Burrows, and Irene Jones and her sons, Phillip Russell Jones and Rebecca and children, Pierce and Brice, and Richard Jeffery Jones and his children, Reed and Jett.
