Elease was born to Helen and Joe W. Murphy on March 31, 1932 (Both deceased) as well as Brothers Joe W Murphy, Jr., William “Bubba” Murphy, Sisters Dorothy Grison, and Annie Ruth Dancy.
Elease transitioned from the earthly life to eternal peace on July 11, 2023 surrounded by her children and grandchildren
She confessed her hope in Christ with the Church of Christ then with Kane Avenue Baptist Church.
She married Thomas ‘Earl’ Brannon in 1948 and from this union 5 children were born. She was a caring mother to her children and every child she ever met.
Elease and her late husband owned and operated The Basement Bar on Lincoln Street.
She enjoyed traveling the world, Roller Skating at the Hippodrome, Swimming and puzzles.
Elease leaves to cherish in memories: Sons Thomas Earl Brannon, Jr. Lavelle Brannon, and William Brannon, Daughters Linda (Herbert) Harris, Deborah Brannon, and Tkei Petway Brannon, Fourteen Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Her Brother Jackie W. (Janet) Murphy. Sisters Brenda Murphy, Gail (Ronald) Thompson, Helen Fay Strickland ( ), Bettie Jo (Dennis) Woodson, Terita Murphy.
Grandchildren: Toya Bryant, Derek Brannon, Tamika Vinson, Ravean Brannon, Shanequa Brannon, LaVelle LaMark Brannon, Tiffany Brannon, Carl (Naomi) Phillips, Tonya Mason-Fentress, Kenya Harris Calloway, and Nekea (Gary) Franklin.
