Elenora A. Alexander, 100, died on November 7, 2025, Newton, Kansas. Born on August 9, 1925, in Halstead, Kansas, Elenora lived a life marked by simplicity and kindness, reflecting her unwavering commitment to those around her.

Elenora was a dedicated professional who started her career with Halstead Hospital and then devoted over 27 years of her career to  Newton Presbyterian Manor, where she worked in the food service department. She carried the values of compassion and service throughout her life, ensuring that every meal she prepared was served with love.

She attended Halstead High School, Elenora found immense joy in her time at Zion Lutheran Church in Newton, where she cherished her church family and nurtured her faith, keeping it quietly steady throughout the years. Elenora’s love for music shone brightly during chapel time at the manor, where she delighted in singing old hymns, often reciting the verses from memory.

Beyond her professional and spiritual endeavors, Elenora had a profound love for forming new friendships. Her move to Wheatland Home in North Newton opened new avenues for connection, with her warm personality making a lasting impact on those she encountered.

Elenora is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carol Casto; her father, August Pjesky; her mother, Bertha Elizabeth Smith Pjesky, and her brother, Marvin Pjesky. She leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship, remembered fondly by her niece, Sherlene Pjesky, nephew Marvin D. Pjesky and her two grandchildren, Rebecca and Christopher. As well as several close friends including Kathleen Lindholm.

As we celebrate the life of Elenora A. Alexander, we remember her quiet strength, her caring nature, and the warm light she brought into the lives of so many. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her spirit will continue to resonate through the memories she created and the lives she touched.

A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025 at  Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Rural Newton, Kansas with The Reverend Kurt Letcher officiating. Friends may sign the book from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home.
