Elenore Ann Schwartz (Ellie) of Mason, Ohio passed away on August 28th, 2025 at the age of 87. Born on October 25, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ellie attended the University of Cincinnati until moving to California where she earned a B.A. in Art History from California State University, Long Beach.

Ellie's passion was teaching. Although starting and ending her career teaching in California, she spent 23 years teaching art at Munich International School in Starnberg, Germany. Creating art with children brought her joy. She formed lasting relationships with her students, many of whom she continued to stay in touch with until her passing.

Ellie was a supportive and loving mother to her two children, Lori Johanson (Roger) of San Anselmo, California, and Leonard Guttman of Kauai, Hawaii. She was an amazing Grammy to her grandchildren Kyle (34), Trevor (33), Eric (32), Alex (30) and Patrick (28) who cherish her. She created special memories with "Grammy Days" and "I Fancys" and imparted her love of art to her grandchildren who loved traveling and visiting museums with her and creating their own works of art under their Grammy's loving guidance. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Schwartz and his children, her nephew and niece, Jeffrey Schwartz (Becky) and Jody (Mark) Bruns. Ellie also maintained strong ties with her large extended family in Cincinnati including her niece through marriage, Melissa Barnett.

Ellie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ethel Schwartz, her son, Leonard Guttman, and her sister-in-law, Valerie Schwartz.

Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A private family service will be held at a later date.
