Elese Young

Elese Young was born on February 12, 1939, in Savannah, Georgia where she spent her childhood years, to parents, Percy Young and Adel Young.

As a young woman, she moved south to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It was there that she worked as a migrant and began the most important role of her life: becoming a mother to her six children.

Seeking new opportunities for her family, Elese later moved to Harlem Heights. She was a woman who was never afraid of hard work, first at Avalon Nursery and later dedicating 15 years as a nurse aide at West Orange Manor, where she cared for others with compassion. Her journey eventually led her to a remarkable 30 plus year at Walt Disney World as a Costume Specialist. Elese was a vital part of the magic behind the scenes, retiring after three decades of loyal service.

From the fields of South Florida, to the halls of Disney, Elese's life was defined by her tireless work ethic and her unwavering love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Percy Young; mother, Adel Young; Stepmother, Carrie Young; and son, Nathaniel Watkins.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Jacqueline Talyor of Columbus, Georgia, John Edward Ashley (Deborah) of Jackson, Wisconsin, Rosa Long (Eddie) of Tavares, FL, Timothy Ashley (Lydia) of Quincy, Florida, and Lorenzo Davis (Lorraine) of Orlando, Florida; 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,
