ELFRIEDA MARIE PURVIANCE
March 16, 1933 ˜ October 30, 2023
Elfrieda Purviance, 90, loving wife and mother, who lived in Vancouver, WA, most of her life, passed away Oct. 30, 2023. She was born March 16, 1933, to Werner and Marie Fahner in Gresham, OR.
Elfrieda had a passion for water skiing, boating, camping and snow skiing, where in fact she met her future husband on the slopes of Timberline, and they married on July 25, 1954. Elfrieda was a beautiful singer, singing mostly in church, which she enjoyed until just a few years before her passing. Elfrieda worked for the State of Washington as a secretary most of her working career.
Elfrieda is survived by her only child, Jeannie (Steven) Gordon; her brother, Fred (Jesse) Fahner; and her sister, Mitzi (Roger) Henshaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Purviance.
A memorial service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 12:30 p.m.

I knew Elfrieda and Gordon when my family moved to Vancouver Washington state and moved into Silver star street I went to school with Jeannie her daughter and we were great friends, my mother Imogene Doden taught at the same high school Vancouver high and my sister baby sat Jeannie,in middle school we moved away and life between us two grew apart ,but a couple years ago I joined our church Columbia Presbyterian church here in Vancouver Washington and join chior and saw old friend from silver star Elfrieda she remembered my family and i.I'm sorry to here that she passed but know deep in my heart besides the Jesus Christ and God and holy spirit and angels chorus and Gordon that my mom imogene a good friend and my Dad Wilbert Doden are standing c!use by to shake hands and hug and talk about the good times on silver star and the memories up there in heaven beyond the golden gate,for Jeannie my friend as a children on silver star I send my love healing caring for I know what it like to have both parents gone,and girl I'm here if you need to scream why??I'm a good listener and just remember your mom and dad or close by and love you just as much as God does and here girl friend my email address [email protected] if you want I'm here?
