Elias “Lito” Garcia, age 62, was born on March 5, 1963, in Falfurrias, Texas, and passed away on November 30, 2025, in Tooele, Utah.
Lito is preceded in death by his beloved soulmate, Judy Garcia, and his father, Elias Garcia. We’re sure the two of them welcomed him with open arms—and knowing Lito, he probably cracked a joke the second he got there.
He is survived by his children, Jordan Garcia (Robby) and Dallas Bentley (Kassandra); his mother, Beatrice Villa; and his siblings Norma Julian, Nelda Martinez, Brandon Garcia, Justin Garcia, and Ken Duval.
Lito was a proud grandfather to Loki, Lestat, Jaxon, Dagger, Tanaya, and Raiden (Elias), and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loyal companions, his beloved dogs Dooley and Marley, who are undoubtedly wondering why the treat man hasn’t walked through the door yet.
A true craftsman, Lito lived life with his hands, his heart, and usually a grin. As a skilled carpenter and landscaper, he could build anything, repair anything, and make any space look good—whether it needed it or not. His early years spent hunting and fishing sparked a love of the outdoors, and his hobby of fixing small engines meant that if something had a motor, Lito had a screwdriver halfway in it before anyone else noticed it was broken
But what Lito will be remembered for most was his humor. He was a jokester through and through—the kind of man who could lift a heavy moment with a one-liner, make a whole room laugh without even trying, and keep a straight face while everyone else cracked up. His laughter was contagious, his timing was perfect, and his comedic commentary on life was unmatched.
Fulfilling his final wish, Lito’s ashes will be placed with his soulmate, Judy, proving that not even the universe could keep those two separated for long. A funeral and celebration of his life will be held at a later date, giving family and friends the chance to gather, share stories, and honor him exactly the way he would’ve wanted—with love, laughter, and maybe a joke he would’ve pretended not to have told.
The family would like to thank the University of Utah Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion, and for helping bring comfort and peace as we said our goodbyes.
Lito will be remembered for his huge heart, his endless humor, and the way he made life feel a little lighter for everyone around him. His presence, his jokes, and his ability to brighten even the darkest days will be deeply missed—but never forgotten
