Elias Ramos Obituary

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Jose Elias Ramos and Maria Paiva, he was raised in New Bedford before living in Bridgeport, CT and then returning to the New Bedford area.
Eli was an avid sports fan and antique model car collector. He enjoyed listening to old music, eating sweets, and socializing with his friends. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and resilience. Elias defeated many health struggles in his later years.
He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and Police Officer in New Bedford.
Survivors include his wife, Molly; his children, Robin Gomes and her spouse Jean of Florida, Melissa Mai and her spouse Jose Montes, Denise Sequeira of Virginia, Jamie Sequeira of Rhode Island, and Shain Ramos and his companion Yolanda Dennis of Fairhaven; his grandchildren, Quiana, Alicia, Nicole, Shain Jr., Justin, Ryan, and Christopher; his great-grandchildren, Sydnie, Jaylee, Adrian, Bentley, Zoey, and Mila; and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Manuel Britto, Arthur Moniz, Dorothy Berrios, Jose Ramos Jr., and Dennis Britto.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to the amazing healthcare workers that provided him with exceptional, skilled, compassionate care.
His visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, November 7 at 10:30 AM followed by his burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
