Elida Carmona, a beloved member of the San Antonio community known for her strength, resilience, love for her family, gourmet culinary skills, and epic sense of humor, passed away on May 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 15, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas.
Elida will be remembered by all who knew her for her unwavering commitment to family and her passion for creating delicious meals that brought joy to those around her. Her infectious sense of humor lit up every room she entered, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.
Elida is survived by her devoted spouse Rogelio Carmona and their children: Baldemar Rodriguez (Rosa), Roger Carmona (Margie), Emelda Carmona (Valerie), Sandra Barnas (Carole). She was a loving grandmother to Stephanie, Steve Jr., Veronica, Baldemar Jr., Jessica, Christopher, Alejandro, Rogelio III, Raul, Samantha as well as a doting great-grandmother to Seleste, Maixmo, Omar, Matthew, and Arielle. Elida leaves behind a large extended family of many many brothers and sisters who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her son Steve Rodriguez and her parents Guillermo Rodriguez and Cecilia Rocha.
A visitation for Elida Carmona will be held on Monday, May 6th at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels in San Antonio from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary Service will take place from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM on the same day. The Funeral Mass to honor Elida's life will be held on Tuesday, May 7th starting at 10:00 AM with the service concluding at 11:00 PM at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels located on South Flores.
Elida Carmona's legacy of love, laughter, and culinary delights will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she touched. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she graced with her presence.
