Elijah David Powell, age 29, of Converse, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday evening, December 4, 2024, at his home.
He is survived by his parents, Brad and Letha Powell; his brothers, Zachary (Alyssa) Powell and Jonah Powell; his niece, Brinley; his nephew, Huston; his fiancée, Katelynn Byrd, and their daughter, Piper Powell; along with his grandmother, Goldie Burgener.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Beverly Powell and Paul Burgener, along with his uncle, David Richard Powell.
Eli was born in Wabash County on June 15, 1995, to his parents, Brad and Letha Powell. He was a 2014 graduate of Oak Hill High School.
Eli worked for CCI in Converse and F. A. Wilhelm Construction Company until his death. Eli's smile and laughter were simply contagious, and he made everyone around him much happier. Eli had a certain charm that made everyone love him and always want to be around him.
Eli's fiancée, Katelynn Byrd, has been his constant companion for the past eight years. Together they gave us the best part of him, their precious daughter, Piper Jae. Eli worshipped the ground she walked on, and they spent a lot of time together doing what they both loved--playing outside at home, playing together at the park, and riding their bikes all over Converse.
Eli was especially close to his brothers, Zach and Jonah. They had the amazing bond of not only being brothers but a friendship and love that went beyond anything most people will ever experience. Eli really just enjoyed hanging out with them and the entire family and just being together.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Eli's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Gary Ashbrooke officiating. Burial will follow at Converse Cemetery.
