Elinor “Jane” Sanders, 94, of Sterling died Friday June 20, 2025 at Rock River Hospice & Home, in Sterling. Elinor was born September 3, 1930 in Mt. Vernon IL the daughter of Alva and Mary "Helen" (Curry) Hulbert. She married Paul Sanders on July 4, 1949 in Mt. Vernon IL.
Survivors include two daughters Rhonda (Ron) Anderson, and Paula (Doug) Carlson; one son Rodney Sanders; eight grandchildren Amanda (Matt) Harms, Roxanne (Derrick) Lopez, Lonnie Smith, Amber (Kelly) Bishop, Wally Sanders, Alex Sanders, Luke Smith, and Ryan Smith; 20 great-grandchildren .
Elinor was preceded in death by her parents Alva (Mary "Helen") Hulbert; husband Paul Sanders; two sisters Glenda Stramka, and Imogene Knappier; one grandchild Gwendolyn Sanders; and one great-grandchild Barrett Bishop.
Elinor was a long time member of The Church Of Christ.
There will be a private family memorial service, and burial will take place at Oak Knoll. A public memorial service will take place at The Church Of Christ at a later date.
