Elisa S. Ayala

Elisa S. Ayala, age 89, of Adrian, died Monday, March 21, 2016, at her home. She was born April 17, 1926, in San Antonio, TX to Magdaleno and Andrea (Esquevel) Solis. On July 24, 1954, she married Benjamin Ayala in Adrian and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2015. Elisa was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation. She is survived by a son, Guadalupe (Evangeline) Ayala of Adrian; three daughters, Janie (Carmelo) Becerra, Elisa (Jacob) Mendizabal, and JoAn (Mark) Navarro, all of Adrian; one brother, Eusebio Solis of San Antonio TX; two sisters, Paula (Jose) Rios and Carmen (Manuel) Trujillo both of San Antonio, TX; and 15 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Delores Solis, Bence Soto, Dominga Ruiz and Christina Gutierrez; a brother, Nicolas Solis and a great-grandson, Luis Torres, Jr. The Funeral Liturgy will be offered Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish. Burial will be in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, in Tecumseh. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. prior to the funeral liturgy at St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish.
