Elisa H. Villa, 85, a cherished mother, grandmother, and lifelong caregiver, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered for her boundless generosity, gentle heart, and the unwavering care she shared with everyone whose lives she touched.
Born on September 13, 1940, in Big Spring, Texas, to Fred and Santos Hernandez, Elisa devoted her life to helping others. Whether tending to a loved one in need or offering words of comfort and encouragement, she lived each day with compassion and grace. Her home was a haven of love and hospitality-a place where everyone felt welcome, valued, and cared for.
A devoted Catholic, Elisa's deep faith was the foundation of her life. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Matthew Catholic Church, where she found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promises of eternal life. Her unwavering belief in God guided her through every season of life and inspired all who knew her.
Elisa is survived by her beloved children, Mary Villa, Terry Villa, Greg Villa, Patty Villa, and Robert Villa; her son-in-law, Lorenzo Verbitskey; and her daughter-in-law, Gina Villa. She was a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren, Tammy (Frank) Precella, Travis (Giselle) Villa, Carlos (Aylin) Villa, and Lillie Villa, seven great-grandchildren, Nick (Krystal) Precella, Damian Precella, Ethan Precella, Fabian Precella, Carmine Precella, Gabriel Villa, Marianna Villa, and three great-great-grandchildren, Adriana Precella, Kane Precella, and Enzo Precella. She is also survived by her siblings, Frances Jimenez, Rosie Ornelas (Adrian), Jr Lucero, and Ernest Hernandez, as well as many extended family members who were blessed by her kindness and gentle spirit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gregorio C. Villa, Sr., her parents, Fred & Santos Hernandez, and her great-grandchild, Damian Precella.
In her final words, Elisa expressed gratitude for a beautiful life surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and unconditional love that will continue to live on in all who were touched by her presence. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds peace in knowing she now rests in God's eternal embrace.
