Eliska Pollock Obituary

Eliska Frances Pollock, 90, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Hospice of the Hills in Harrison.

She was born December 14, 1934, at Donaldsonville, Louisiana, to Louis Leslie and Hilda Agnes LaBlanc Dill. Eliska was a woman of deep faith, being a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, and was also a longtime member of the Rosenberg, Texas chapter of the Catholic Daughters of America. Mrs. Pollock lived in Labadieville, Louisiana until the age of 12 when she moved to Thibodaux. She graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1953. She enjoyed sewing, tending to her flower beds when able, and crafting special items for family members and friends. She worked as a substitute teacher in Richmond and Rosenberg, Texas from 1975 to 1987, before she moved to Harrison in June of that year. She later substituted at the Harrison School District for many years, touching the lives of numerous children and families in the communities she worked in.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Pollock; and two brothers, Louis Dill Jr. and Jerry Dill Sr. and his wife, Norma.

She is survived by two sons, Glenn (Janet) Pollock of Richmond, Texas and Greg (Martha) Pollock, of Harrison; one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Dill, of Thibodaux, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Triston Pollock of Harrison, Travis (Elsabeth) Pollock of Fort Worth, Texas, Clinton (Sidney) Pollock of Katy, Texas, Tahlur Pollock and partner Jake of Savannah, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren including India June, of Katy Texas; a step-granddaughter, Halley (Forest) Elliott, of Harrison; two sisters in-law, Norma and Wilma Pollock, both of Harrison; a brother in-law, Arliss (Sue) Dickerson, of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two lifelong best friends, Patsy and Odel Zeringue of Labadieville, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Harrison, with the Rev. Fr. Benjamin Riley officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the Mass at Maplewood Cemetery.

Yesterday

Mrs. Pollock was a sweet lady. I did her hair every Saturday. She always made my day brighter when she came in. I´m thankful for every laugh we shared. Keeping her loved ones in my prayers.
