Mom, enjoyed talking to you today. I went to school w Eliza and love you all dearly.

I will always remember how kind Liza was and that she called me her little angel. Charlie was nicknamed bagel bite.
She taught me lots of things about art, books, dogs, Johnny Cash and good advice. She had the best stories too about when she was a kid. I had wished and prayed so hard that she would get better. There will never be anyone else like Liza. I will always remember her.

I was Liza's camp counselor at CSM in 1998. I still remember how she made the whole cabin more fun to be around! I also remember the day we dragged her mattress -- sheets and everything -- out onto the porch (I have no idea why!) and the picture I took of her and a friend rolling with laughter on it. This world just became a little less bright.

I want to thank all of you on behalf of the family for your beautiful thoughts and prayers for this beautiful young lady. Eliza never said, "Why Me?" Never complained, never felt sorry for herself. Even though she is my daughter, I have never seen in any person the character shown by Liza. She has impacted the lives of many in a short time, and has made the world a much better place.

Eliza was an outstanding young woman. She models for us all that it is not what happens to us that impacts us or others, but it is how we respond to those circumstances. She took life in stride and lived well in the midst of good times and adversity. We can only hope to aspire to that kind of strength. My first impressions of Liza as possesing an inner strength held true over her short life time. Our hearts reach out to all of you at this time.
