Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Anderson, 76, of Fremont, NH, passed away on August 21, 2021. Born in Dover, NH on May 10, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Claire (Schoff) LaPlante. She shared 34 years of marriage with her husband, William Anderson.
Betty was raised in Dover, NH, where she graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1964. Betty studied nursing at Stratham Vo-Tech and had a long career as a Registered Nurse, including employment at Wentworth Douglass Hospital and Webster at Rye. After meeting her husband, William, Betty moved to Center Harbor, NH and also worked at his bakery, Anderson’s Bakery, becoming an accomplished professional cake decorator. Betty and William enjoyed taking motorcycle trips across the country, including Quebec, Memphis, and Virginia, and RV trips to Blue Grass Festivals. Betty was an amazing artist and she loved painting, felting, knitting and needlepoint. She was an avid reader, glue to our family, caretaker, a rock, and so much more... her home is where family gathered. Above all else, Betty was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time spent with family.
Betty is survived by her husband, William Anderson of Fremont, NH; her children, Wendy (Wilson) Blackman of Manchester, NH and Gregg John Wilson and his wife Christina Nancarrow-Wilson of Barrington, NH; her grandchildren, Isabella and Zach Wilson; her brother, Peter LaPlante and his wife Mary of Wakefield, NH; her step-children, David Anderson and Beverly Anderson, both of Meredith, NH, Susan Solomon and her husband Al of Moltonborough, NH, and Donald Anderson and his wife Wendy of York, ME; her beloved dog, Gretchen; as well as five nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her sister, Janice Gardner.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, September 10th from 5-7pm at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
