Elizabeth "Betty" Lee Arnold, a beloved member of her community, passed away on November 7, 2025, at Baptist Health Louisville. Born on March 19, 1937, in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Betty lived her life with an unmatched passion for family, nature, and creativity.
As a dedicated housewife, she created a warm and nurturing home, always placing her family at the center of her world. Her grandson, Michael Starkey, and his wife Sylvia were particularly dear to her heart, along with her great-grandchildren, Anna Belle and Jacob Starkey. They made her smile brighter and brought joy to her days.
Betty's love for the beauty of nature was evident in everything she did. She had a deep appreciation for flowers, trees, and birds, with a special fondness for hummingbirds. Each day she welcomed the sunshine into her life through her cherished collection of stained glass, which cast an array of colors and light, filling her home and garden with warmth and cheer. Gardening was another passion of hers; she found solace in tending to her plants, creating a peaceful sanctuary alongside her husband, Calvin Arnold, where tranquility flourished.
Betty's creativity shone through in her impressive collections of skilled handmade items, treasures that reflected her personality and artistic spirit. Throughout her life, she valued the connections she built with others, exemplified by her attendance at Immanuel Baptist Church, where she gathered with her community.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin Arnold, her parents, Elizabeth Lunsford and Everette Price, as well as her daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Starkey, and son-in-law, Chuck Starkey. Betty also mourned the loss of her siblings: Charlotte Foster, Fern Meredith, and Edward Price.
She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Nichols and Nancy Janes, who continue to cherish the memory of their beloved sister.
A memorial service celebrating Betty's remarkable life will be held on November 17, 2025, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home beginning at 7:30 PM.
