Elizabeth (Betty) Erickson passed away peacefully in her home in Crosslake on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at 11:00AM at Mission of The Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake, MN. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The interment will be at the Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake with a luncheon to follow.
Betty was born on January 14, 1936, in Becker, MN to Albert and Sarah Erickson. She grew up in Becker and on June 14th, 1952, she married the love of her life, Wally Erickson. They moved to Minneapolis where she attended Vera Duanes Beauty School. After she graduated, she started and operated Betty Jaynes Beauty Salon on Lowry and Fremont streets in North Minneapolis until her retirement in 1988. After her retirement, they moved full time to Mission Lake where they had been going for years. She loved and enjoyed her dogs. She also enjoyed gardening and attempting to maintain the lakeshore.
She has been an original and active member of the Mission of The Cross Lutheran Church and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Betty is survived by her son, Joe (Terri) Erickson, four grandchildren, Joseph Erickson, Elin Nelson, Sara (Justin) Kline, Kathryn Erickson, her beloved dog George, one brother, John (Wilma) Erickson, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by Wally her husband of 68 years, her parents and two brothers, Thomas Erickson and Gerald Erickson.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Crosslake.
