Betty Chirico, 92, passed away peacefully on March 30,2026

Betty was born and raised in Freehold New Jersey. Betty was 1 of 10 children of 10 children. She was proud of her heritage, a cheerleader in her younger years reflecting her energy, enthusiasm, and positivity that defined her.

Betty was married to her beloved husband Jim, for 69 years. A testament to their deep bond and lifelong love. He preceded her in death three years ago,and their enduring love remained a guiding presence in her life.

She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, Michele and her husband Michael, James jr and his wife Bridget and Anthony and his wife Wendy, and her sister Lillian Heffernan and Brother John Walter Freeman. She was a loving grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 8.

Betty enjoyed working and staying active and contributing throughout her life. She worked at Readers Digest, Wappingers Central School district, and Boscabel. She was also a parishioner at St Mary's Catholic Church in Fishkill where she was in the choir and St Mary's Players

Betty had a deep passion for travel and found great joy in exploring the world. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, who were the heart of her life.

Betty will be remembered for her warmth, her spirit and unwavering devotion to her family.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY from 3 PM to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:30 AM at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY 12524. Entombment to follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY 12524.
