Elizabeth Ann Cook nee. Eckhout, age 94, Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025.
Born Jan. 29, 1931, in Detroit, MI, to the late Fred and Marguerite (Whitman) Eckhout. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul, daughter, Elizabeth Cook Eckhout, and siblings, Mary Kelley, Marquerite French and Fred Eckhout.
Dear mother to Paul (Linda) Cook, Suzanne (Greg) Pfeffer, Carolyn Stack, Mark Cook and David (Sally) Cook. Proud grandmother to Nicholas, Matthew, Mary, Daniel, Amy, Brett, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Josh, Andrew and Alex. Great grandmother to nine children. And Auntie to Chrissy Fitchett, Darice Kelley and Christine Sarason. She was affectionately referred to as 'Mamie'.
Elizabeth resided in Kirkwood for some 70+ years having many dear friends and neighbors over the years - her besties were Barb Costigan and the late Doris Derickson. She loved spending time with family, and was humble, caring and always trying to assist others in some small way.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Agnes Home in Kirkwood or the Animal Protective Association.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bopp Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:00 am, at St. Agnes Home Chapel.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
