Elizabeth Eberle Obituary

In Fond Remembrance

We remember with love and gratitude the life of our beloved Mother, Elizabeth Ann (Albrecht) Eberle, who was called home to the Lord on November 15, 2025, at the age of 90 peacefully in her home - Littleton, Colorado. Elizabeth, a faithful parent and friend, exemplified Christian virtues of kindness and patience in all aspects of life.

Born on January 9, 1935 in Waldo Township, Illinois she was raised in the Mennonite/Christian faith, guided by a love for service. Elizabeth’s loving parents, Alvin Lloyd Albrecht & Mollie Mae (Schrock) had six children with Elizabeth being the second to youngest daughter. They raised their family in a close agricultural farming community where Elizabeth spent time with chickens, dairy cows, and dogs. She also had extended aunts, uncles, and cousins around that helped each other continuously. That upbringing created an unwavering devotion to family, community, and service. Throughout her earthly journey, Elizabeth extended generosity and grace to those around her.

After graduating from high school, she stayed home for about one year to help her Mom with the family farm since her father’s passing in 1952. From there, she attended Goshen College to complete a Certificate of Secretarial services – one-year program. With her education in hand, she moved to Virginia for approximately one year and worked at Mennonite Broadcasts, a radio station in which she proof-read receipts from listeners, and maintained an index file in the late-1950’s. She then followed an opportunity to Colorado with the Denver Volunteer Service Unit (Mennonite) teaching the Bible to Spanish/English speaking kids. Through a meeting between friends, which resulted in courtship, Elizabeth married Marlin Clarence Eberle of Burwell, Nebraska on August 23, 1966 in Denver, Colorado. They both shared a love of bowling and were on a competitive couple’s team and individual men’s/women’s team for many years.

She continued her service to others by working as an assistant ward psychiatric technician at the University of Colorado hospital. After the oldest daughter was born, Elizabeth decided to pursue a home-based daycare business so she would be more available to her girls. Elizabeth remained the neighborhood child-care provider, to countless children, for approximately 26 years. After the passing of her husband in 1996, she chose to work at her non-denominational church’s daycare facility as well as various odd jobs like grocery store food demonstrator. Through the normal difficulties and joys of marriage, including health challenges, Elizabeth remained a devoted wife and mother. Elizabeth & Marlin raised three daughters in Colorado where they all were encouraged to try new activities, dream and follow their hearts.

Elizabeth is survived by all daughters: Carol (Craig) Eberle Peterson of Arvada, CO; Esther Eberle Minson of Denver, CO; Linda (Lyle) Olson of Littleton, CO and will be forever missed by three granddaughters: Ashleigh Olson; Emily Minson; & Gemma Olson. Also, lovingly remembering her is Bernadine Yoder, youngest sister; P. Yvonne Eberle & Gertie Albrecht, sisters-in-law; plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Each will cherish their memories and are thankful for her presence in their lives.

Elizabeth was reunited in Heaven with her parents, Alvin & Mollie Albrecht; husband Marlin Eberle; mother-in-law Pearl Eberle; son-in-law Alan Minson; brother Marion & sister-in-law Marge Albrecht, sister Naomi & brother-in-law Joe Kauffman; brother Jerome & sister-in-law Dorothy Albrecht, brother Gaylord Albrecht; brothers-in-law Ervin Yoder; Clyde Eberle, Leland Eberle and sisters-in-law Anna Wright and Lillian Few.

From an early age, Elizabeth found a spiritual home within the Mennonite church. As an adult, she then found a spiritual home in non-denomination church. Over the years, her dedication grew along with her involvement in many aspects of church life. As a regular attendee of Sunday services, Bible studies, and choir performances, her own faith was nurtured while encouraging others in Christ. Her welcoming spirit shined as a greeter, her voice was often heard in worship, her hands were busy in the Sunday nursery with children, her heart always open to the teachings of Scripture, and her trusty Chevy Belaire was the “Uber” for friends and strangers alike.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Association Colorado Chapter in her name. Though Elizabeth has departed from this earthly life, we take comfort in the words of Scripture: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
