Elizabeth Gertie Mae Flagg was born into this life on Saturday, March 3rd, 1962 in Decatur, Illinois to the proud parents of
Peoria June and Joyce Mae Henderson Flagg, Jr.
Liz, as her family called her, received Jesus and was baptized at an early age. Liz was always full of life, she loved to
laugh and she had a smile that could brighten up a whole room!
Liz had five children all of Decatur, Illinois: Sophia April, Jermarcue Noble, Jershawna Shana, Tierra Dominique and
Tiffany Denise; 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Liz was a dedicated grandmother and fought to the end of life
to see and hold her latest granddaughter, Ja'Layah Elizabeth Flagg.
Liz was an open-armed woman who kept the doors of her home open in an effort to help take care of family, friends and
kids of the neighborhood.
Liz graduated from MacArthur High School where she later worked as dedicated Lunchroom Supervisor and as a
Custodian Supervisor.
Blessed to grow up in a God-Fearing Home, Liz was one of 17 Children of Peoria and Verile (Wilson) Flagg who united in
Holy Matrimony, on May 26, 1973 in Decatur, Illinois. Respectively, the children are: Mary Lou Flagg; Lonnie Henry June
Flagg (Deceased); Elizabeth Gertie Mae Flagg (Deceased); Martha Ann Flagg; Sally Ann Flagg and Sammuel Lee Flagg,
all of Decatur, Illinois; Chaney Lee (Henry) Wilson; Elizabeth Bradford; Willie Mae Wilson; Lula Mae (Theodore) Robinson
of Chatham, Illinois; Ann Marie Wilder; Gwendolyn Wilson; Frank Lewis (Diane) Wilson; Louella (Michael) Wilder, Sr.;
Verile Wilson; Vernice Lee Wilson and Kathleen (Tommy Lee) Garmon, Sr.
Surrounded by her beloved children and family members, Liz's soul departed quietly from this life into Life Eternal on
Friday, September 30th, 2022.
Liz leaves to cherish fond memories of her life spent with family, friends, and others, her five children, 15 siblings, 8
grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, friends
and two special friends: Larry Adams and Rozell Perry.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents, step mother, grandparents and one brother. Liz will be truly missed, but "Never
Forgotten."
