Hillsborough Elizabeth "Betty" Cherniak Gerhard Loving wife, sister & aunt 89, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Daughter of the late Anthony & Anna Shutack Cherniak, Betty was a lifelong resident of Hillsborough and worked for over 30 years as a Manager at Conolog Corporation in Branchburg where she retired. Betty loved her family, especially all her beloved nieces and nephews. She enjoyed being with her family more than anything and never missed their special gatherings. Always smiling, Betty was a very giving, kind soul and loved by everyone. Betty's husband of 54 years, Joseph Gerhard, predeceased her in 2003. Devoted to her surviving sisters, Dorothy Tropiano and Karen Verrelli, Betty was also predeceased by sister Paulette Ader and brother George Cherniak. A private service will be held by Bruce VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 No. Gaston Ave. Somerville, with a Memorial Service to be held at a later date for family and friends.
