Elizabeth M. Gromek

1956 - 2023

Elizabeth M. "Baba" Gromek, 67, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of William B. Gromek, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Gnila, Poland on May 11, 1956, the daughter of the late Edward and Teresa (Dzienis) Adamski. Elizabeth came to the United States in 1977. She was employed at Capewell Manufacturing for 20 years prior to moving to Rocky Hill where she took a job in the rectory at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, finding a bargain, family vacations and hosting her family. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and caring for her children and grandchildren. She always had a meal ready for anyone who walked in the door. She was a longtime communicant of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William B. Gromek of Rocky Hill, her daughters, Ursula Karlson and husband Nicholas of Michigan City, IN, Violet R. Kaman and her husband Michael of Wethersfield, Bridget J. Gromek of Granby, her grandchildren, Lucas Kaman of Wethersfield, Annabella Kaman of Wethersfield, her brothers, Zbyszek Adamski and his wife Ewa of Poland, Jurek Adamski and his wife Danuta of Poland and her sister, Kasia Cylwik of Poland, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Anna Gromek and her brother Andrzej Adamski, Elizabeth's family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 4-7PM at the South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Ave., Hartford, CT 06114. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10AM at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 55 Charter Oak Avenue in Hartford, CT 06114. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield, CT 06002. Donations in Elizabeth's memory may be made to SS.
