Elizabeth J. Halgas

Elizabeth Halgas of Burlington Township, formerly of Westampton, Willingboro and Scotland passed away on Sunday Dec. 21, 2025. She had just turned 90 years old.

Born in Bishopbriggs, Scotland she was the daughter of Frederick and Jemima Kennedy.

Elizabeth immigrated to the United States in 1954 and soon thereafter married her late husband Chester Halgas who she was happily married to for 65 years.

After being a housewife for many years, she worked as an office Manager for RCH Cable for over 10 years. She also enjoyed volunteering at Rancocas Valley Hospital where she was a main fixture at the reception desk greeting all with her Scottish accent. In her earlier days she was an Scottish dancer and accomplished Accordionist playing with her brother Bobby throughout Scotland.

Anyone knowing Elizabeth would surely hear all her stories of about Scotland and the wonderful times during her youth.

She is survived by her sons Robert (Sherri) and Steven (Donna), Grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew,Angela, Bobby, Daniel, Andrew (Burns), Abigail. And 12 Great Grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may attend her viewing from 10 AM to 12 PM Friday Jan. 2 at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mt. Holly. Funeral services will begin at 12PM. at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately.
