Elizabeth Louise Hillstrom

Elizabeth "Betty" Louise Hillstrom, 84, of St Charles IL passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. She was born on May 5, 1941, to her parents Faye Parker Brown and Edna Ruth (nee Tanner) Brown. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Hillstrom June 10, 1961, Barry, Illinois.
A devoted mother with a great work ethic and love for education. Betty obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois. While raising her children she continued her education at Northern Illinois University, completing her master's degree and then her PHD in Psychology. Betty taught for more than 27 years at Wheaton College. She has also published two books, Testing the Spirits and Enabled Overcoming Paralytic Polio. Betty also had a passion for gardening, sewing, cooking and reading. Betty had deep devotion to her Christian faith and a desire to lead others to the Lord through bible study.
She is survived by her children; Diane (Gary) Taylor, Brian (Amy) Hillstrom, and Niel (Mia) Hillstrom; her grandchildren, Krystal (Ryan) Sager and Wesley (Fiancée Shae Taff) Hillstrom, Rebecca Reich, Amber Gustafson, and Doug (Fiancée Nicole Sanchez) Taylor, and Emily Hillstrom, Anne (Andrew) Lindquist, Matthew (Erica) Hillstrom and Desirae (Steve) Coffman; seventeen great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Orin Martin (Penny) Campbell, Frank (Janet) Campbell, Rosemary Dittmer (Fiancée Gary Kuhn), Barbara Gore, and Carol (Marc) Cimolino.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hillstrom and a brother, John Campbell.
A visitation will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Moss-Norris Funeral Home; 100 S. 3rd Street, St Charles IL 60174.
A funeral service will take place at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Blackberry Township Cemetery in Elburn IL.
