Elizabeth Hilton Obituary
September 8, 1950 - March 7, 2025
Elizabeth Holt Hilton (Liz, Libba), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefullyon March 7, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1950, to Max M. Holt and Audrey V. Holt.
Liz was a devoted wife to Phillip W. Hilton, with whom she shared 43 cherished years. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Amy Elizabeth Hilton, of Redondo Beach CA (Brian); and step sons, P. Nathan Hilton (Joelle), of Forest, VA, and Timothy A. Hilton (Sara) of Lynchburg, VA. Her greatest joy was her family, and she took immense pride in her grandchildren, Cassidy McEachon (Joseph), Claudia Hilton, Addison Hilton, Alaina Hilton, and Eve Hilton. She was also delighted to be g-g-ma to her great-granddaughter, Isabella McEachon.
She was predeceased by her brother, G. Rankin Thompson. She is survived by her siblings, Patricia Starr, Randy Thompson (Margarita), Nancy Burton (Griffin), Carol Black (Ronnie), and Karen Burke (Fred) and a sister-in-law, Janet Thompson.
Liz was the secretary to the president of Centra Health for 25 years and retired to be a full-time mom to her daughter in 1995. She was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church for 33 years where she taught Sunday School and served as director of Vacation Bible School and the Awana program. Liz also volunteered for the American Red cross and The Salvation Army.
A special thanks to her daughter-in-law Joelle Hilton and nieces Shawn Hecker and Cheryl Moore for their loving assistance throughout Liz's illness.
Libba's warm smile, kind heart and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2025, at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, 5225 Fort Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24502. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel, 21914 Timberlake Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24502 (434) 237-2722.

My love and prayers to the family. Liz was part of the group of mama's sitting on the sidelines while our girls (Kristie and Amy) cheered, and played sports. I also enjoyed working with Liz through the Red Cross Military mailings overseas. Liz was a very sweet person, bubbly and energizing. She will be missed. Love to all.
