Elizabeth M. Jensen

Elizabeth (Bettie) M. Jensen passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 91, in her residence at Ashton Place in Sarasota, Florida. She was a former resident of Bradenton, Florida and Reading, Massachusetts.
Married her late husband, Charles (Charlie) W. Jensen in 1954, Bettie shared a fulfilling and wonderful life with Charlie for over 66 years.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts on November 5, 1934, Bettie was a daughter of the late Seward and Ella (Sutherland) MacDonald. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Harold C. MacDonald of Texas and S. John (Jack) MacDonald of Arizona.
Bettie is survived by her sister, Sandra Schluntz of Melrose, Massachusetts, her nieces Kristen Schluntz of Hollis, Maine, Nancy Schluntz of Melrose, Massachusetts, her nephew Je rey Jensen and his wife Diana of Needham, Massachusetts, along with many other nieces and nephews.
Bettie graduated from Melrose High School in 1952. She was a long-time employee of American Mutual Insurance Company in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Before retiring to Florida, Bettie and Charlie were very active in the Aleppo Shriners Hospital in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
Bettie was an optimistic, caring, and loving individual who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved spending time and traveling with her husband, extended family & friends. She also enjoyed painting, collecting Hummels and Boyd's Bears, and playing Bingo.
Bettie will be remembered and missed by family and friends. Our family would like to thank all of Bettie's friends, near and far, for their friendship, kindness, and support. We extend our thanks to the entire staff at Ashton Place for all the love and exceptional care you provided her. She flourished in her 4.5 years in residence and was always smiling brightly and cracking jokes with staff who treated her like family. We also extend our appreciation to Bettie's visiting care takers from Secure Aging of Bradenton, FL; especially Melissa Leedom with whom Bettie shared a special bond.
Interment will be at the Sarasota National Cemetery with her beloved husband Charlie.
