Elizabeth S. Lacchini

Born and raised in Brooklyn NY where she met the love of her lifetime and husband of 62 years James. She married James and lived in Queens and had a son Robert who died as an infant in 1964 and another son Gregory. She then moved to Lynbrook and had daughter Michele and was a long time member of Saint Raymond's Church where she served at one time as Prefect of the Sodality of Our Lady. She raised her children there, made dear friends and was loved by all who always found her to be a warm, welcoming, and gentle soul. A true Italian mother and grandmother who knew love to be a good meal and time spent together with her husband, children and spouses and her grandchildren whom she devoted all of her time to even to her final weeks. In these final weeks she would lie in her hospital bed and tell her grandchildren that she would "order up a pizza" to the hospital room for them to enjoy. No one who came into contact with her ever felt unloved or uncared for. Her warmth came from the light of God shining through her with kindness and a childlike faith. She lived to love knowing the truth of 1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

She is survived by her beloved husband James, son Gregory and his wife Yohani, daughter Michele and her husband Eric, grandchildren Gabrielle, Timothy, Stephen, Jason, Mia and Bella and her sister and best friend Catherine. Her beautiful light will shine on in each of them.
