Elizabeth Lindeman-Lieber Obituary

Elizabeth Lindeman-Lieber

1948 ~ 2025

With full hearts, the family of Elizabeth ("Liz") Lindeman-Lieber announces her peaceful passing.

Liz was born in Liestal, Switzerland, on January 25, 1948 to Wilhem O. and Elisabeth Guenther. The eldest of eight children, she is survived by her siblings Wilhem, Ruth, Mary, Linda, David, Colleen, and Kenneth. At the age of four, Liz and her family immigrated to America aboard the Queen Mary-a journey she fondly recalled throughout her life. She grew up in White Salmon, Washington, until the age of eighteen.

In 1968, Liz married Brian Lindeman in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised two children, Richard Lindeman and Monique Kirk. Liz earned a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from Weber State University and went on to establish her own design firm. Brian passed away in 2000, far too soon. Later, Liz found love again with Wilford Lieber, and they married in 2014. They shared many happy years until his passing in 2021.

Liz was a woman of creativity and joy. She loved painting, gardening, floral arranging, bird watching, and singing. Though she never had formal music training, she could play her favorite songs on the piano and sing along. Proud of her Swiss heritage, Liz sang for many years in the Swiss Chorus Edelweiss, where she delighted in performing. She had a gift for finding beauty in simple things, especially in nature, and often took her grandchildren to Antelope Island to share that love.

Liz's life was defined by service and kindness. She greeted friends and strangers alike at the doors of her church for many years, offering hugs and smiles to all. Her generosity and warmth touched countless lives.

Above all, Liz cherished her role as "G-Liz," grandmother to eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Living just up the street from six of them, she spent countless hours playing in the treehouse, hosting sleepovers, and cheering them on at recitals, pageants, and school events. She even gave driving lessons and let them take the wheel of her car. Her childlike wonder and adventurous spirit made every moment unforgettable. Her laughter and smile will be deeply missed.

Liz was loved by many and will be missed beyond measure. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Dementia Society of America, Antelope Island Friends, or the USU Botanical Center –Kaysville. Or simply raise an orange Fanta in her honor.

A viewing will be held at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, in Layton, Utah on Sunday, November 30, from 5:30–7:30 pm. A family blessing and casket closing will take place Monday, December 1, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at the Kaysville Cemetery. Yesterday

My sincere condolences and best wishes.
I was fascinated to find this obituary for a member of a family who had lived in White Salmon, WA and been in the Church there. I was raised in Glenwood (30 miles north), with an LDS mother, and was baptized in 1954 at age 17, and was the first missionary to come from the White Salmon branch. The name "Willie Gunther" was familiar as someone affiliated with the the branch at that time. Was he in the Branch Presidency with Pres. Moz Burles?
I am now age 88, and live in Spanish Fork. If you are interested, I would love to get acquainted with Elizabeth's descendants and remember my association with the Branch in the 1950s. Robert Lewis [email protected]
