Elizabeth Jane McNeely passed away peacefully November 4, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born August 17, 1947 in Martin, Tennessee, Jane was the daughter of Francis Wade Callicutt and Betty Watson Callicutt. She was raised in West Memphis, Arkansas, and graduated from West Memphis High School in 1965.
On September 11, 1965 Jane married Charles Michael McNeely and together they raised two sons, Charles Howard and Van Michael, in Marion, Arkansas. Jane and Charlie celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Jane spent her career as a business manager at Coastal Energy before retiring to care for her youngest grandson.
Jane was happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren and was a gracious host to countless family holidays. She made every effort to attend school and special events of all of her sons and grandsons, often traveling out of town to do so. Her family will miss the many Easter Egg Hunts, Thanksgiving Thankful Tiles and special Christmas surprises that continued into the boys' adulthoods. She loved spending time outdoors feeding the hummingbirds that returned year after year and cultivating her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She was a history enthusiast and enjoyed travel and learning about the culture of the many locations she visited, especially Civil War sites and historical towns in the Delta region. She was a member of New Beginnings Methodist Church and enjoyed participating in a women's community bible study with many of her closest friends.
Jane was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Charlie, two sons, Howard (Lynne Robinson) and Van (Ashley), four grandsons, Hunter Caples, Michael McNeely, Addison McNeely and Taylor McNeely, great-grandson Weston McNeely, brother Forrest Callicutt (Donna), and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial service will be held November 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar, Ave., Memphis TN. 38119, with visitation preceding at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
